Can even I have a heat pump?

Whether you are constructing a new building or if you are rebuilding a heating system, then the answer is simple: yes. If natural gas is not available, then the answer is even simpler - of course yes, and the return on investment will be usually even quicker.

Heat pump installation is usually profittable even during existing heating system, especially when natural gas is not available. However, if the current heating system is installed already, the return of investment is usually a little slower, because you are not comparing the difference of the two heating system but the whole cost of a new system.

Can the new heat pump be connected to the current heating system? If you have a low-temperature heating system (underfloor heating and sometimes even convectors), then yes, but if you have a radiator system it is possible that you'll have to change the system. A radiator system which was designed or even better overrated before heating of the building is usually satisfying. If you have an experience that the water coming into the radiators has temperature of 60 °C or less even during the coldest outdoor days, it is probable that the system will be satisfying.

However even if you have a radiator system that is not satisfying, nothing is lost. The system can be changed by increasing the radiator surface - however the help of a professional is needed of course.
